About Akarta Exports
Founded in 1910. Still trading on the same word.
Akarta Exports is the export house of the Ibiixo Group — a business founded in 1910 by Dayabhai Karia in the princely state of Morbi and traded for eight decades as Dayabhai Pragji & Sons. Products, ports and paperwork have changed many times over; what the family will put its name to has not.

Who we are
Built to be the only Indian supplier you need
An agricultural house in 1910, a general trading house after independence, and a multi-product exporter today — the point of the company has always been breadth under one name.
The Ibiixo Group traces its roots to the early 1900s, before Indian independence. It was founded as an agricultural company and went through many iterations over the decades, always in search of other ways the business could be made more useful — and it played a working part in India's growth after independence was gained. The group is today headed by Mr. Narendra Karia, President and Chairman.
An importer sourcing tiles, spices, pet food, fasteners, food machinery or sports goods from India can place all of it with one house — one commercial contact, one quality department, one documentation team — rather than qualifying six suppliers, auditing six factories and reconciling six sets of paperwork against six different standards of honesty.
We are a sourcing and export company, not a manufacturer. We buy from well-known, established Indian brands and factories to the exact written specification each buyer gives us. We regard that as an advantage for the buyer: with no captive plant to keep busy, we have no reason to push a product that does not fit the application you described. Our margin comes from being the supplier you re-order from, which only happens if the first container was right.
The company is government-approved and works to an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system, with in-house inspection staff who clear consignments against the agreed specification before loading — our people, not the factory's.

History
How the business grew
Six stages, spanning more than a century of Indian commercial history — from an agricultural house in Morbi state and hand-written ledgers to container programmes and laboratory certificates.
1910
Founded in Morbi as an agricultural house
The business was founded in 1910 by Dayabhai Karia in the then princely state of Morbi, decades before Indian independence, as an agricultural company trading in produce. It traded under the name Dayabhai Pragji & Sons, and ran on ledgers, letters and personal credit — a system in which a house survived only on its word.
Pre-independence
From produce into general trade
As the house grew it moved beyond agriculture into other goods that could be moved across India and, eventually, beyond it. The expansion was gradual and deliberate: the family behind Dayabhai Pragji & Sons was permanently in search of new ways to bring income into the company without putting its name at risk.
After 1947
Supplying a newly independent India
Much of the company's expansion came shortly after independence, when it turned to importing the goods a young country needed to grow — from everyday items such as match sticks to essential commodities such as sugar. The company played a working part in that growth rather than observing it.
Mid-century to 1990
A new generation, and a closed door
Narandas Karia took the business into its next generation, adding new lines including cotton processing. The economy of the period eventually caught up with it, and in 1990 Dayabhai Pragji & Sons closed its doors after eight decades of trade.
2009
Reopened as Ibiixo
The doors reopened in 2009 under a new name — Ibiixo Technologies Pvt Ltd — and the business expanded into several companies under the Ibiixo Group. Some of the original activity carried over, including the import and export of Indian products; the rest of the group moved into technology and business services.
Today
Akarta Exports, the group's export house
Akarta Exports carries the trading side of that history forward as a multi-product export house across tiles, Indian spices, pet food, wire nails, food-processing machinery and sports goods — under an ISO 9001:2015 certified quality system, with an in-house quality department and documentation team serving every division. The group is headed by Mr. Narendra Karia, President and Chairman.
Our company, founded in the early 1900s, still holds the core values that drove it over a century ago. Work with us and you work with a house that offers honesty and transparency in business — it is those values that have allowed us to grow at the rate we have.
Mr. Narendra Karia, President & Chairman, Ibiixo Group
How we operate
Six commitments we are held to
These are not aspirations printed on a wall. They are the working rules that decide what we quote, what we refuse and what we do when something goes wrong.
01
Specification before price
We establish what the product must do before we quote what it costs. A tile that fails its wear class or a spice that fails its residue limit is not a saving.
02
Inspection by our own people
Our QA staff sample across the production run and record dimension, shade, gauge, coating or laboratory values against the agreed specification before loading.
03
Honest refusals
Where a requested grade, price or lead time is not achievable, we say so at enquiry stage. A declined order costs less than a rejected container.
04
Documentation as a discipline
Export sets are prepared in-house and checked against your import requirements — permits, health certificates, origin rules — before dispatch, not after arrival.
05
Packing on the buyer's terms
Bulk, retail, private-label, buyer-printed cartons and market-specific labelling across every division. The pack is part of the specification, not an afterthought.
06
Programmes, not shipments
We plan against your season, storage and payment cycle so that repeat supply is predictable — the reason multi-year buyers stay with a family business.

Credentials
A company you can verify
Standing is worth little unless it can be checked. These are the registrations, certifications and structures a buyer's compliance team normally asks for.

The group
Part of the Ibiixo Group of Companies
The group's stated purpose is to help growing companies expand — which is why the export house sits alongside a technology company and a business-services company, and why our buyers get structured catalogues, clean order tracking and disciplined financial administration rather than a fax-era export office.

How we work
We source from India's established brands — we do not manufacture
Akarta Exports is a sourcing and export house. We do not own factories and we do not claim to. Our value is that we know which well-known Indian brands and manufacturers make what, to what standard, and at what price — and we buy from them to the exact specification you give us.
01 — Your specification, written down
We start from your specification, not from a catalogue. Grade, dimension, tolerance, finish, test standard, pack, artwork and labelling are put in writing and confirmed with you before a single enquiry goes out.
02 — Matched to the right Indian brand
We place that specification with established, well-known Indian brands and manufacturers in the cluster that genuinely makes the product — Morbi for tiles, Rajkot and Ludhiana for machinery, Meerut and Jalandhar for sports goods, Kerala and Gujarat for spices.
03 — Offers compared on merit
Because we own no plant and owe no factory a minimum offtake, we compare offers openly on quality, consistency, capacity and price — and tell you where a lower price will not hold up in your market.
04 — Inspected, consolidated, shipped
Our own inspectors clear the goods at the brand's plant and again before loading. Multiple brands and multiple divisions consolidate into one container, one invoice and one document set.
Brand names are disclosed to you on the offer and named on the inspection report, so you always know whose production you are buying. Where a buyer already has a preferred Indian brand, we are happy to source that brand and handle only the inspection, consolidation, documentation and shipping.

Buyer questions
What importers ask before the first order
You are a sourcing house rather than a manufacturer — why is that better for us?
Because we owe no factory a minimum offtake. A manufacturer's sales desk will always steer you toward what its own plant produces; we place your specification with whichever manufacturer in our network meets it best on quality and price, and we can change that manufacturer if performance slips without losing your programme.
Can we ship more than one division in the same container?
Yes, and many buyers do. Mixed loads across tiles, spices, pet food and nails travel on one invoice through one loading port, subject to weight limits and to any product-separation rules your import authority applies to food and feed goods.
Who inspects the goods before loading?
Our own quality staff, working to the specification agreed on your order — not the factory's internal check. Sampling runs across the production batch rather than the first carton, and the report with batch numbers and photographs is available before the container sails.
How do you handle a claim if something arrives wrong?
Send photographs, the batch or lot numbers from the inspection report and a description of the defect. We take it up with the manufacturer directly and agree a remedy with you — replacement in the next shipment or commercial adjustment — rather than leaving you to argue with a factory you never contracted with.
What payment terms do you work on?
Letter of credit at sight and telegraphic transfer against documents are standard for new buyers. Established buyers on recurring programmes are considered for extended terms once a trading history exists.
Do you supply samples before an order?
Yes. Physical samples, technical data sheets and laboratory analysis reports are provided during specification, and for larger programmes we have the brand produce an approved reference sample which we hold against which subsequent production is judged.
