Indoor and outdoor floors from a single enquiry
Buyers rarely need one floor tile. They need a coherent range covering entry-level residential through commercial and external areas — which is exactly what a broad manufacturer network exists to provide, with our own QA clearing consignments before loading.
The single most useful question on a floor enquiry is what will walk on the tile. A bedroom floor and a supermarket aisle can look identical in a catalogue and behave completely differently after two years. We map your application to a PEI wear class (ISO 10545-7) and a water absorption band (ISO 10545-3), then quote ranges that meet it rather than the cheapest tile in the format you asked for.
Slip resistance is the second decision, and it is where most claims originate. Wet areas, entrances and any sloped external surface need a rated finish — R10 to R11 for most commercial wet zones under DIN 51130, higher where water is constant. A polished tile in a hotel entrance is a liability regardless of how well it photographs.
The third factor is shade and calibre consistency. Tile is fired, so lots vary; a large single-design order is only usable if it arrives from matched production batches. We book batch-matched quantities up front for volume orders and record the batch on the pre-shipment report so a site can lay a whole floor without a visible break.

We start from your specification, not from a catalogue. Grade, dimension, tolerance, finish, test standard, pack, artwork and labelling are put in writing and confirmed with you before a single enquiry goes out.

We place that specification with established, well-known Indian brands and manufacturers in the cluster that genuinely makes the product — Morbi for tiles, Rajkot and Ludhiana for machinery, Meerut and Jalandhar for sports goods, Kerala and Gujarat for spices.
03 — Offers compared on merit
Because we own no plant and owe no factory a minimum offtake, we compare offers openly on quality, consistency, capacity and price — and tell you where a lower price will not hold up in your market.
04 — Inspected, consolidated, shipped
Our own inspectors clear the goods at the brand's plant and again before loading. Multiple brands and multiple divisions consolidate into one container, one invoice and one document set.
Brand names are disclosed to you on the offer and named on the inspection report, so you always know whose production you are buying. Where a buyer already has a preferred Indian brand, we are happy to source that brand and handle only the inspection, consolidation, documentation and shipping.

Floor tile types we export
Each type solves a different problem. The right answer depends on traffic, exposure, budget and how the floor must look after five years, not two.
- Porcelain floor tiles
- Water absorption below 0.5%, high abrasion resistance and suitable indoors or out. The default where durability governs — commercial floors, entrances, wet areas and freeze-prone climates.
- Ceramic floor tiles
- The volume workhorse: cost-effective, hard-wearing enough for residential and light commercial traffic, and available in the widest selection of designs and sizes of any category.
- Travertine-look floor tiles
- Limestone character reproduced across a wide face, so each tile carries its own figure. Among our most requested premium ranges for hospitality and high-end residential.
- Wood-look plank tiles
- Timber appearance without timber maintenance, in 200×1200 and 200×1000 plank formats with grain-registered printing and matt textured surfaces.
- Large-format slabs
- 600×1200 and 800×1600 formats for a near-jointless floor. Requires careful crating and a flat substrate, both of which we brief before shipment.
- Heavy-duty commercial floors
- Thicker bodies in PEI IV–V with unglazed or full-body construction for retail, industrial and transport floors where the surface pattern must survive abrasion.
- Anti-skid & wet-area floors
- R10–R12 rated textured surfaces for bathrooms, kitchens, pool surrounds and ramps, with the rating declared on the specification sheet.

Akarta runs an in-house quality department with inspectors assigned to each division. Goods are checked at the factory during production and again before loading, against the written specification agreed on your purchase order — not against the factory's own grading.

What importers usually ask us first
How do I know a tile will survive my application?
Tell us what walks on it and whether it gets wet. We convert that into a PEI wear class and a slip rating and quote only ranges that meet both, with the values stated on the technical sheet so your specifier can sign it off.
Can you guarantee shade consistency on a large order?
For single-design volume we book batch-matched production up front and record the batch numbers on the inspection report. Where a repeat order lands in a later production run, we say so rather than shipping a near-match into an existing floor.
Do you supply matching wall tiles for the same project?
Yes — coordinated wall and floor programmes are common, and we quote them together so the shades are selected against each other rather than independently.
What thickness should I specify?
8–10 mm covers residential, 10–12 mm suits commercial interiors, and 15–20 mm is specified for external paving and industrial floors. Thicker tile costs more per square metre and reduces the area a container can carry, so it is worth matching thickness to the actual load.
