Because we are not tied to a single mill, buyers get real variety in one place — and our own inspectors check length, gauge, head form, point and finish against the specification before the container is loaded.
Nails are bought by weight and judged by consistency. The failures buyers report are almost always the same three: gauge drifting off specification mid-batch, brittle wire that bends rather than drives, and galvanising that is thin enough to bloom rust before the goods reach the shelf. Our inspection therefore samples across the production run rather than checking the first carton, and records length, shank diameter, head diameter and coating on the pre-shipment report.
Raw material is low-carbon mild steel wire, drawn and then formed with the head, shank and point appropriate to the type. Where an application calls for corrosion resistance — external timber, coastal construction, fencing — we quote electro-galvanised or hot-dip galvanised finish and state which, because the two differ substantially in coating weight and in price.
For distributors, the practical advantage is assortment. A single 20-foot container can carry a spread of sizes and types in retail boxes with your own printing, so a hardware wholesaler receives a complete shelf programme in one shipment instead of five part-loads from five mills.

01 — Your specification, written down
We start from your specification, not from a catalogue. Grade, dimension, tolerance, finish, test standard, pack, artwork and labelling are put in writing and confirmed with you before a single enquiry goes out.
02 — Matched to the right Indian brand
We place that specification with established, well-known Indian brands and manufacturers in the cluster that genuinely makes the product — Morbi for tiles, Rajkot and Ludhiana for machinery, Meerut and Jalandhar for sports goods, Kerala and Gujarat for spices.
03 — Offers compared on merit
Because we own no plant and owe no factory a minimum offtake, we compare offers openly on quality, consistency, capacity and price — and tell you where a lower price will not hold up in your market.
04 — Inspected, consolidated, shipped
Our own inspectors clear the goods at the brand's plant and again before loading. Multiple brands and multiple divisions consolidate into one container, one invoice and one document set.
Brand names are disclosed to you on the offer and named on the inspection report, so you always know whose production you are buying. Where a buyer already has a preferred Indian brand, we are happy to source that brand and handle only the inspection, consolidation, documentation and shipping.

Six types cover almost every enquiry we receive. Tell us the material being fixed and the exposure, and we will specify the type, gauge and finish.
- Round wire nails · 20–150 mm
- The general-purpose nail for rough carpentry, formwork, crating and framing, where holding strength matters more than appearance. Flat checkered head, diamond point. Available bright or galvanised.
- Oval wire nails · 12–150 mm
- An oval shank and small head that punches cleanly below the surface, so joinery and finish work stays presentable. The oval section also reduces splitting when driven with the grain.
- Tack nails
- Short nails with a wide flat head for fixing carpet, underlay and webbing, or stretching fabric onto timber frames in upholstery work. Supplied bright or blued.
- Panel pins · 12–50 mm
- Very light gauge with a minimal head, for cabinet work, beading and small mouldings where a heavier nail would split thin sections. Frequently specified in polished finish.
- Square twisted nails
- A twisted square shank that behaves closer to a screw, giving substantially greater withdrawal resistance in timber. Specified for decking, pallets and fixings that must not work loose. Priced above plain nails.
- Annular ring shank nails
- Sharp annular rings along the shank grip timber fibres hard, making these the choice for plywood sheathing, flooring and any joint under vibration or cyclic load.

Akarta runs an in-house quality department with inspectors assigned to each division. Goods are checked at the factory during production and again before loading, against the written specification agreed on your purchase order — not against the factory's own grading.

What importers usually ask us first
Can you supply galvanised nails for coastal or external use?
Yes. Electro-galvanised finish suits general external work at a modest premium; hot-dip galvanised carries a much heavier zinc coating and is the right specification for coastal exposure, fencing and permanent outdoor timber. We quote both separately so the coating decision is explicit.
Can one container carry several sizes and types?
Yes, and most distributor orders do. Send us the assortment you want on the shelf and we will build the loading plan around it, keeping the container within destination weight limits.
Do you supply under our own brand?
Yes. Retail boxes, cartons and hang packs can be printed with your brand, artwork and barcode, with print proofs approved before the packing run.
How do you prevent rust in transit?
Bright nails are lightly oiled or wax coated before packing, cartons are lined where the voyage is long or humid, and desiccants are added inside the container. For destinations with severe humidity we recommend a galvanised finish rather than relying on packing alone.
