Wall tiles across every price point your market buys at.

Wall tile demand splits sharply between cost-led volume and design-led premium. We carry both, from the same network, so a single order can cover the whole range your customers actually ask for.

Overview

One enquiry, the full wall tile spectrum

Because we source rather than manufacture, we can quote ceramic volume lines and premium porcelain in the same conversation — and we will say plainly which is the better fit for the application you describe.

Wall tile is a lighter product than floor tile and specified differently. Abrasion resistance barely matters because nothing walks on it, so the decisions that count are appearance, format, glaze quality and — in wet areas — how the tile and its joints behave under constant moisture. That is why wall tile bodies are usually higher-absorption ceramic (group BIII under ISO 13006) at 7–9 mm, which keeps the tile light enough to hold on a vertical bond without slumping.

Where wall tile does fail, it is normally glaze crazing or edge chipping. Crazing shows up as hairline crackle across the glaze months after installation, usually from body-glaze mismatch, and we screen for it on the ranges we repeat-order rather than discovering it through a claim. Edge chipping is a packing and handling problem, controlled by carton construction and pallet strapping.

Commercially, the wall category is where design cycles move fastest. Subway and metro formats, large-format book-matched panels, textured three-dimensional surfaces and digitally printed decorative ranges all turn over quickly. We track what the Morbi cluster is producing each season so a distributor can refresh a display wall without hunting factory by factory.

How we work

We source from India's established brands — we do not manufacture

Akarta Exports is a sourcing and export house. We do not own factories and we do not claim to. Our value is that we know which well-known Indian brands and manufacturers make what, to what standard, and at what price — and we buy from them to the exact specification you give us.

01 — Your specification, written down

We start from your specification, not from a catalogue. Grade, dimension, tolerance, finish, test standard, pack, artwork and labelling are put in writing and confirmed with you before a single enquiry goes out.

02 — Matched to the right Indian brand

We place that specification with established, well-known Indian brands and manufacturers in the cluster that genuinely makes the product — Morbi for tiles, Rajkot and Ludhiana for machinery, Meerut and Jalandhar for sports goods, Kerala and Gujarat for spices.

03 — Offers compared on merit

Because we own no plant and owe no factory a minimum offtake, we compare offers openly on quality, consistency, capacity and price — and tell you where a lower price will not hold up in your market.

04 — Inspected, consolidated, shipped

Our own inspectors clear the goods at the brand's plant and again before loading. Multiple brands and multiple divisions consolidate into one container, one invoice and one document set.

Brand names are disclosed to you on the offer and named on the inspection report, so you always know whose production you are buying. Where a buyer already has a preferred Indian brand, we are happy to source that brand and handle only the inspection, consolidation, documentation and shipping.

The range

Wall tile types we export

The category spans a very wide price band. Tell us the segment you sell into and the formats your market lays, and we will quote against it.

Ceramic wall tiles
The most widely sold wall tile in the world: cost-effective, light, easy to cut and available across the largest number of patterns and formats. The volume line for residential bathrooms and kitchens.
Porcelain wall tiles
Dense and hard-wearing as well as decorative, specified where the wall takes knocks or continuous moisture — commercial washrooms, hospitality and kitchen splashbacks.
Subway & metro formats
75×150, 100×200 and 100×300 bevelled and flat rectangles in glossy and matt glazes. A permanent seller across residential and hospitality interiors.
Large-format wall panels
600×1200 and larger faces in marble-look and stone-look prints, often book-matched across two tiles for a continuous vein through a feature wall.
Textured & 3D surfaces
Relief, fluted and faceted surfaces that read as architecture rather than pattern, used for feature walls, reception counters and hotel lobbies.
Quarry wall tiles
Unglazed, naturally coloured bodies in several earth tones for interiors that want material honesty rather than print.
Decorative, listello & mosaic
Digitally printed décor tiles, border strips and mesh-mounted mosaic sheets that let a retailer sell a coordinated scheme rather than a single tile.

Quality assurance

Nothing leaves India until our own inspectors clear it

Akarta runs an in-house quality department with inspectors assigned to each division. Goods are checked at the factory during production and again before loading, against the written specification agreed on your purchase order — not against the factory's own grading.

  • Pre-production sample approved by the buyer before bulk manufacture begins
  • In-line checks during production for shade, calibration, dimension and moisture
  • Pre-shipment inspection with photographic report before container sealing
  • Third-party inspection (SGS, Bureau Veritas, Intertek) arranged where required

Packing & shipping

Packed the way your market receives it

Wall tile is thinner than floor tile and chips at the edges if the carton is weak, so carton construction and strapping are specified rather than assumed.

  • Standard export cartons on shrink-wrapped, strapped pallets
  • Reinforced cartons and edge protection on large-format panels
  • Retail-ready display packs and sample panels on request
  • Mixed-design container loading built to a written plan
  • Buyer-specified carton printing, barcodes and shipping marks
  • Private-label packaging under your own brand

Documentation

Paperwork prepared in-house, not outsourced

Every consignment travels with a complete document set, prepared by our own documentation team and checked against your letter of credit or contract terms before dispatch.

Body classification, dimensional tolerance, glaze quality, water absorption and thickness per range.

Pre-shipment inspection report

Shade, calibre and glaze verification with batch numbers and photographs.

Buyer questions

What importers usually ask us first

Can wall tiles be used on floors?

Generally no. Wall tile bodies are higher-absorption and thinner, with glazes not rated for abrasion, so they wear through and crack under foot traffic. If you need a visual match on both surfaces, we quote a coordinated pair — a wall range plus a floor-rated tile in the same shade.

What causes glaze crazing and how do you avoid it?

Crazing is a hairline crackle across the glaze caused by body-glaze expansion mismatch, and it often appears months after installation. We concentrate repeat orders on ranges with a proven track record, and our inspection includes glaze condition checks on sampled cartons before loading.

Do you supply matching décor and mosaic pieces?

Yes. Décor tiles, listello borders and mesh-mounted mosaic sheets are quoted alongside the field tile so a retailer can sell a complete scheme rather than a single article.

Can you pack under our own brand?

Yes — private-label cartons with your artwork, barcode and shipping marks are routine, with print proofs approved before the packing run.
